Playing Bejeweled Blitz

I've had a lot of fun playing Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook. At first, I had just a few friends playing but now I've got over 15 on my "team" (as they call it).

I've been in a rivalry with 2 friends in particular. One girl I know is a real competitor. The other guy I just want to beat because we have different political views (in a fun way). To get more points and increase your score, there's a number of tips, hints and tricks that you can learn.

The most important thing is to get the multiplier as high as you can, as fast as you can. So the main strategy of the game is to make matches where there are 4 gems. This gives you a hypercube, which is like dynamite. If you can get one of these to blow up by itself, then you get a multiplier.

Finding the Best Credit Card Offer

In today's economy, people are looking at their financial options. We all need to focus more on our finances and make sure we're saving money and make sure our financial resources are the best they can be.

In addition to looking at the best checking and savings accounts, people are also taking a look at their credit cards to make sure they have the best kind of credit card. There are several types of credit cards available:
  • Low interest credit cards
  • Student credit cards
  • Rewards credit cards
  • Secured credit cards for bad credit
  • Prepaid credit card offers
  • Cash back credit card offers
I personally like the rewards credit cards because I do a bit of traveling and getting free miles and free flights is really nice - it makes traveling even more fun when you know you're flying for free.

Other people may be looking for cash back credit cards or cards with low interest if they plan on having a balance from time to time.

Credit cards are good for emergencies but best not used all the time. Your FICO credit score is better when you have more credit available to you that you're not using, so use your credit wisely.

With a little research, you'll be sure to fine the best credit card offer out there.

Free Contact Lenses

I've been wearing contact lenses about 2-3 years now. They're great. Before that, I had glasses for a year and I really didn't like them. They'd get so dirty all the time and I felt like my face couldn't breathe... which I know that sounds strange but that's how I felt.

When I was fitted for my first pair of contacts by my eye doctor, we went through a few sets of free contact lenses or "trial lenses." I have astigmatism, so I was fitted with toric lenses. Torics have small weights at the bottom of them, so they had to get those at the right angle so that the contact would align correctly in my eyes. We probably went through 3 sets of free, trial contacts until we got the right ones.

There's a lot of competition out there for contact lenses, so these manufacturers will give people free contact lenses for them to try for 30 days - even if you don't need toric lenses. They want you to use their brand and order from them. So that's what you should do. You should try contacts from different manufacturers and see how they work. There might be a brand that you like better than another brand.

Contact lenses today are very high tech and there have been a number of advances in contact lenses recently. So check with your eye doctor and see if you can try different one and get some free contact lenses. Why not?

Samsung 1080p Television

I found a great site that has good pricing on a Samsung 1080p Television. Samsung has the best 1080p picture. I've got one myself and I just love the HD quality. My friends and even parents come over to watch football games or movies. I've had a lot more people over since I got that 1080p HDTV.

Another great feature is the HDMI ports so that you can easily hook up your Playstation or even a computer. I've got a Mac Mini plugged into mine and it's great because you can download movies via iTunes or watch YouTube in full screen, 1080p HD quality. The audio and video are in the same HDMI cable which makes set up a breeze and you don't always have to switch souces on your stereo or home theater.

So just go with Samsung! Ask anyone who has one and they'll say they love it.

Managing Money in Tough Times

Well, it's the end of the month and the wallet's a little empty. The mortgage payment is coming up again but I'll get a paycheck soon, so things should be ok.

In the past, I've had tougher times - especially right out of college, wow did I have bills. Not fun. I didn't have much I could do at that point, so I used paycheck advance services once in a while to help make ends meet. I only needed them for a few days at a time or maybe a week at the most and then I'd pay it back. It was there when I needed it and it helped me.

All you do is take out a small loan, you post date a check with your loan amount plus interest and then when that day comes, you pay back your loan or you can pay it ahead of time and save some interest. The interest is high, but it's better than some bank NSF charges or getting a bad mark on your credit history.

Or go sell some plasma!

LCD TV Wall Mounts

So I bought an HDTV last year and I love it. It's a 40 inch Samsung. The contrast ratio is 30,000:1 and the picture is really great. The contrast ratio is really one of the main specs you want to look it. The larger the number here, the better contrast the TV screen can show, so the better the picture. The whites are brighter and the dark colors get darker. Between the lights and the darks you'll also get more variation, so things will just look better - plain and simple.

I was thinking about rearranging my living room so that I could hang my flat screen TV on the wall. I should be able run the wires through the wall pretty easily since it's an interior wall. So to do this, I started looking for LCD TV wall mounts. The cool thing is that there's a standard way of mounting a LCD TV to the wall. You'll want to make sure that your LCD TV is VESA compatible. If it is, then mounting your TV will be easy because VESA LCD TV wall mounts have been designed to be compatible with the Flat Display Mounting Interface (FDMI) Standard. This standard assures compatibility between TV manufacturers of compliant or certified mounting hardware.

Installing the LCD TV to the wall will still be a bit of work - even with the right kind of mount. I've got some friends that have small construction businesses, so I might have them help me since I can handle hanging pictures but that's about it. So I'll shop for the right wall mount and then have them over to help me out. That's the plan. I'll probably post here once I get the TV mounted and tell you how it went.

First Post / About

Well, I decided that as I research things on the web, I'll post what I learn here as kind of an online archive of useful information. Hopefully people will come across these posts and find information that's useful. I figure that if things are useful for me at one point, then there's a good chance that they're useful for others at some point, too.

So enjoy!
